The Nordic express delivery company Jetpak is launching a new service for the growing number of companies that have their central inventories in Northern Europe. With “Jetpak by Night” customers can place orders late in the evening and the goods are distributed from 7 a.m. throughout the Nordic region – or in the middle of the night if desired.
A plane that takes off late in the evening from Eindhoven, centrally located in Holland, lands in Göteborg, Arlanda, and Helsinki. The goods go directly to Denmark by delivery van, and Oslo is reached by delivery van from Göteborg. Once arrived, a new flight or ground transportation quickly delivers the goods to the end customer’s door. Jetpak has control of the entire transport chain, with full traceability and personal delivery notification.
“Our early morning deliveries enable us to provide our customers with up to one whole extra working day. With a stable partner like Amapola we know that our planes take off on time. We also know that our fast and important ground transport system works. By controlling the entire transport chain and our own business system we can promise distribution throughout the Nordic region from 7 a.m., which I dare say is unique," says Erik Lautmann, CEO of the Jetpak Group.
Jetpak collaborates with the airline Amapola, a subsidiary of Salénia AB, as well as with DANX in Denmark, which has years of experience of nighttime deliveries and whose delivery vans complement Jetpak’s 700 own delivery vans in the Nordic countries. Since April this year, Jetpak has also partnered with the German company time:matters for fast and reliable express deliveries in Europe.
“Now we have an unbeatable network. We can also offer late pick-up times in the Nordic countries for transport between and within the countries, or morning deliveries in Belgium and Holland,” says Mr. Lautmann.
A growing number of companies are moving their warehouses down to the Benelux countries. A total of 800 Nordic companies have already chosen to locate operations closer to the European market. At the same time, short storage times mean capital is also tied up for less time, while efficient distribution solutions become increasingly important.
Sandvik Tooling, Sandvik Mining and Construction, and Seco Tools, with central warehouses in Holland and Belgium, have long been forerunners in the field of distribution and have already decided to use Jetpak’s new service.
“Jetpak has always tried to find effective new distribution solutions for customers like us with time-critical deliveries. Now for the first time we have a comprehensive Nordic system, over which Jetpak has full control. This will really benefit our customers,” says Jan Sörlien, head of the distribution system at Sandvik Tooling.
The new “Jetpak by Night” service, which will be fully operational in February 2008, is expected to achieve annual sales of more than SEK 100 million and strengthen Jetpak’s position as the industry leader in door-to-door services by road and air.
