The Nordic express company Jetpak and Descartes Systems Group Inc. (Tradevision products) has established a cooperation enabling the Nordic freight forwarders easy access to book and receive confirmation to bookings on Jetpak’s Express Parcel Service by use of the forwarders existing links to Descartes Systems.
The majority of the Nordic forwarders are already using the Descartes applications to communicate electronically with the air carriers and all functions of their back office systems are seamlessly integrated into the Descartes systems.
Jetpak is offering to the forwarders an efficient booking system on their web page. Until now the users have been forced to leave their Descartes systems to make Jetpak bookings on the internet as a separate function and receive confirmation in a separate message.
With the new cooperation Jetpak bookings can be made either separately or as an integrated part of the Descartes PC-Pro system and the important booking confirmation will be received in the forwarders Descartes system in a file format that can be imported directly to the forwarders accounting system.
This will save a lot of redundant work and time at the forwarder’s offices and will also mean potential significantly improved procedures in the accounting departments of the forwarders.
In the initial phase the new system will launched in Norway and later it will extended to Sweden and Denmark.
